Sound Technician

Realistic

Records, mixes and reproduces sound for music, film, broadcast or live events. Technical ear plus practical rigging and troubleshooting.

School subjects

Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is accepted; Physical Sciences and Music help.

How you qualify

A Diploma or Certificate in Sound Engineering, Audio Technology or Live Event Technical Production (NQF 5-6), or a MICT SETA / CATHSSETA learnership. Hands-on experience on real productions counts heavily. Entry requirements differ by provider - confirm directly with the institution.
