These terms apply when you buy a Career Pathfinder assessment from us. Please read them before you pay. By completing a purchase you agree to them.
The purchaser must be an adult — a parent or legal guardian, or another adult acting with the guardian's permission. We do not contract with learners under 18.
My Future, My Career is a trading name of Institute for Alternate Development (Pty) Ltd. Your contract is with that company, and payments will appear on your statement under its name or the name of its payment provider.
This information is provided in accordance with section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
The Career Pathfinder is a structured career-guidance assessment for high-school learners. One purchase covers one learner and includes:
This is a career-exploration exercise, not a psychometric test. It is not a psychological assessment, a diagnosis, or a clinical service, and it is not represented as psychometrically validated.
It does not predict or guarantee any career or study outcome. The report describes what a learner's answers suggest about their interests, strengths and preferences. It is guidance, not a prediction.
It is not a substitute for professional psychological or medical care. If a counsellor becomes concerned about a learner's wellbeing they may recommend that you seek appropriate support.
The report refers to qualifications, institutions and entry requirements. Entry requirements change every year and differ between institutions. We compile them in good faith from public sources at the time of writing, but we cannot guarantee they are current or complete.
Before making any subject choice or application, confirm the requirements directly with the institution concerned. In KwaZulu-Natal, applications are made through the Central Applications Office (cao.ac.za).
Subject choices — particularly the choice between Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy — have long-term consequences. The final decision rests with the learner and their parent or guardian, in consultation with their school.
The price is R1 500.00 per learner, inclusive of everything listed in section 2. There are no additional charges.
Payment is processed by Payfast. We never see or store your card details. Your access code is emailed to you once Payfast confirms the payment, usually within a few minutes.
You may cancel and receive a full refund at any time before the assessment is started — that is, before the access code has been used to begin the questionnaire. Email us at usamah.ganie@gmail.com with the name on the order.
Once the assessment has been started, the purchase is non-refundable, because counsellor time is committed from that point. If something has gone wrong, contact us anyway — we would rather resolve it than stand on a policy.
Refunds are made to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

Every report is read and written by a qualified counsellor before it is sent. This is what takes the time, and it is the part we will not rush.
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and we will use suitably qualified counsellors to interpret and sign off every report.
We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of the report, for changes to institutional entry requirements, or for outcomes of applications to any institution. Our total liability arising from any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for gross negligence under section 51 of the Consumer Protection Act.
We process the personal information of learners, who are children under POPIA. We do this only with the consent of a parent or guardian. How we handle it is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
The questionnaire, the Bullseye career explorer, the report templates and all related materials remain our property. Your report is yours to keep and share as you wish; the underlying materials may not be copied, resold or reproduced.
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your purchase.

You may also refer a complaint to the National Consumer Commission, and any complaint about personal information to the Information Regulator of South Africa (POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za).
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
