Signwriter

Realistic

Designs, makes and installs signage - vinyl, painted, illuminated and vehicle graphics. Combines design software with practical fitting work.

School subjects

Grade 12 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy; Visual Arts and Technical subjects help.

How you qualify

Mostly learned on the job or through a short accredited course in signage, vinyl application or graphic design; some enter through an FP&M SETA learnership at NQF 3-4. Practical skill and a driver's licence matter more than a qualification. Confirm current requirements with your counsellor.

Confirm the requirements directly with the institution before your subject selection form is signed. In KwaZulu-Natal, applications go through the Central Applications Office (cao.ac.za).
