Looks after passenger safety and service in the cabin. The role is primarily a safety role - service is secondary, and the training reflects that.
Matric with good English and Mathematics; minimum age 18 at the start of training.
A Cabin Crew Training Course at a SACAA-accredited academy, roughly six weeks, then SACAA examinations to obtain a Cabin Crew licence. You must hold a valid Class 4 aviation medical certificate BEFORE training starts, and pass practical water-survival tests - swimming 15 m unassisted in an inflated life jacket and boarding a raft from the water. Airlines then run their own selection and type training. Confirm current requirements with the academy and your counsellor.
