Broadcaster / Presenter

Enterprising

Presents radio or television programmes - live, scripted or interview-based. Voice, judgement and preparation matter more than looks.

School subjects

Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is accepted; strong English and other languages matter most.

How you qualify

A Diploma or Degree in Journalism, Broadcasting or Media Studies (NQF 6-7), though many presenters enter through community radio, campus radio or online work and build an audience first. Demo material is what gets you auditioned. Entry requirements differ by institution - confirm directly with the institution.

Universities of Technology and DHET-registered private film schools; MICT SETA / CATHSSETA learnerships

Confirm the requirements directly with the institution before your subject selection form is signed. In KwaZulu-Natal, applications go through the Central Applications Office (cao.ac.za).
